The Christmas holidays are the most stressful time of the year for me. Now don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas; the music, food, and times with my family are great. But getting to the happy place is nerve-wracking. It takes a lot to get to the happy place….
My family travels during the holiday season. Wait now, they are traveling to me. But getting my mom brother, sister and her family here in one piece is always a challenge. Everybody wants the cheapest travel deal with all their points they have saved over the year. Everybody wants to bring their Christmas gifts from Milwaukee. Everybody wants to know what house they are sleeping in. It’s Crazy!
The cleaning lady has to come more than once in this month. Yep I said it, I got a cleaning lady. But this is the kind of cleaning lady you have to clean up the house before she comes. She is great at cleaning, but she will not put up any of your things. She will clean the floor, pick up your shoes and put your shoes right back in the same place.
There is no work/life balance during the holidays. Right around Thanksgiving I was talking to my business partner about my travels during the holiday. His curt reply? “WE are not on break through New Year’s Vetty. Come back to work after Thanksgiving.” It never ends…
Quote for the week: Three phrases that sum up Christmas are: Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men, and Batteries not Included.”
