Got your Low Carb Shopping List Together?

I get asked all the time what are the staples in my refrigerator to keep me on my Low Carb Lifestyle. Believe me there are things in there at definitely shouldn’t be in there but I try to keep a variety of the good stuff to eat so I won’t want to put the bad stuff in the refrigerator. All of these things can be found in a regular grocery store. I don’t go anywhere special to get my groceries. Here is a healthy list of my main dietary essentials:

Protein:
Lean Beef
Chicken
Ground Turkey
Pork Tenderloin
Bacon
Chicken/Turkey Sausage
Eggs
Tuna
Lots of people eat beans, but I am not a bean eater. I would say eat them sparingly. Beans also include lots of carbohydrates.

Vegetables: This list changes as the season changes. Summer months include Cauliflower and more eggplant than the winter months. Frozen versions of these things work great in soup with our favorite protein.

Dark Greens – Kale, Spinach, Broccoli, Collard Greens, Mustard Greens, Romaine or Green Leaf lettuce, Arugula
Bell Peppers
Tomato
Cucumbers
Avocado
Green Beans
Okra
Green Onions
Eggplant
Artichokes

Fruits:
Berries (all forms)
Dairy:
I would add Full Fat Milk to this list but I am allergic. But if you are good with it…..go for it!
Almond Milk
Coconut Milk
Half and Half
Butter
Full Fat Cottage Cheese
Full Fat Sour Cream
Greek yogurt
Ricotta
Full Fat Cheese
Fats and Oils:
Coconut Oil
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Sesame or Peanut Oil
Frozen Foods:
Any protein that is included in the fresh protein list
Any frozen vegetable on the fresh vegetable list
Any frozen berry on the fresh berry list
Nuts and Seeds:
Any kind you like, just don’t make them honey roasted!

Peanu
Canned Foods:
Any vegetable listed on the Fresh/Frozen list
Condiments:
Mustard (any variety, except honey mustard)
Miracle Whip
Soy Sauce
Pesto Sauce
Spices (any with less than 1 gram of sugar)
Hot Sauce
Almond Butter
Peanut Butter (Natural, no added sugar)
Herbs:
Any variety of fresh herbs
Spices:
Any variety of dry spices (being mindful of sodium and sugar content)

Oh yeah and coffee and splenda or I won’t make it through the day!

Now that I’ve bombarded you with information. Did you find it helpful? I really hope so….
Happy Low Carbing!

Thought for this week: You are what you eat, so don’t be cheap, fast, easy or fake! HA!
Peace……
